Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the most prestigious fashion Awards in East Africa:The annual Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards.
Running for the third time since their inception, this year was a whole lot different.
The awards were host to a number of international celebrities ranging from Nigeria's Banky W,Tayo Faniran,Swanky Jerry, to Kenya's Vera Sidika,Sauti Sol,Rwanda's Moses Moshions,Tanzania's Linah Sanga and Idris Sultan; to mention but a few.
Pulling such big names to one fashion event was testament to the fact that Ugandan fashion has indeed come of age.
No longer do we have to travel abroad so we can rub shoulders with the people we admire or see on TV but can now, bring them home,to events organised by ourselves.
Thanks to the CEO of the event,Ahumuza Brian for paving the way.
As if that wasnt good enough, the event had the biggest Red carpet i have ever set my eyes upon, reminiscent of the one at the BET awards.
Running from the stairs of Victoria Hall, all the way to the entrance of the conference centre and extending to the hotel, the red carpet was a sight to behold.
And lastly it was a pleasure to see Her Royal highness Princess Elizabeth Bagaya receive the award for Lifetime Style and Fashion Icon.
For a woman who has graced the covers of Vogue,Harper's Bazaar and Ebony, that award had been a long time coming.
I could go on and on about the night of 12th December but for now let the pictures do the talking.
XOXO
That was a great collection dear, I love the photography.
