THE POWER OF NETWORKING IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY
Hello Fashionistas,

Apologies for being  away.I was so busy with a gig that i hardly had time to blog.Now that am back,however, you can expect the usual glamorous pictures and inspirational stories.
Well, well,my social life has been crazy of late.I have been hoping from one party to another and not once ever declining an invite.
Why?Because now more than ever i have realized the power of networking.

The industry of Fashion is one that is highly dynamic and competitive and as such it helps to build a strong social network,one that will support you,recommend you to clients and ensure that your dreams become reality.

Knowing more people gives you greater access, facilitates the sharing of information, and makes it easier to influence others for the simple reason that influencing people you know is easier than influencing strangers.

Network power depends on how strong your relationships are, on how much attention you command when you engage people in your network, and on how attractive you are as a member of other peoples’ networks.

 If you are known as a source of deep expertise, for instance, and people can rely on you for expert solutions or creative ideas, you will be a more attractive network partner than someone who lacks that expertise.
 If you know other powerful people and can access them whenever you need to, you will be a more attractive network partner.

Similarly, if you are in a position of authority in your organization and can make things happen, you will be a more valued network partner.
Finally, you will have more power in your network with the people you know best—with long-time colleagues, close friends, and others with whom you have developed mutual trust and respect.
So go ahead and give out those business cards,attend parties and talk to strangers,you never know what could come out of it.
And most importantly, don't ever lose track of the ultimate goal,which is to achieve success for both you and the people you get in touch with.
Remember you network is your networth.
