300,000 visitors including Heads of States expected to attend UMA international Trade Fair.

 

The Uganda Manufacturers' Association has confirmed that 920 exhibitors will showcase their products and over 300,000 people are expected to attend this year's Trade Fair 

The chairman of the marketing subcommittee, Simon Kaheru, made the statements at a press conference today at the UMA Showgrounds earlier today. 
''We are currently at 100% booked both indoor and outdoor. Local exhibitors are 800 while international exhibitors are 120. A total of 300,000 visitors are expected including Heads of State, Politicians, executives, and celebrities.'' Kaheru added.

This is the first time the fair is taking place after a 2 year hiatus caused by the Covid19 pandemic under the theme; ''Business recovery by harnessing local sourcing and deepening value chains integration.

Mr. Deo J.B Kayemba, the UMA chairman expressed that the theme is a reinforcement of ''our call to government to prioritize local sourcing through public procurement.

The official opening is scheduled to take place on the 5th of October starting at 10am and will be graced by the secretary general of Africa Free Continental Trade Area H.E Wamkele Mene.

The ceremony will officially close on the 10th of October with an appearance from H.E President Yoweri Museveni alongside three presidents including Kenya's William Ruto.
