STYLE CRUSH ON DESIRE LUZINDA

She is a certified diva this one.No matter how many times you may talk about her,she keeps moving, keeps slaying, keeps being relevant.Her fighting spirit knows no boundaries.Her name is Desire Luzida and she needs no introduction.
I have had a chance to interview Desire once and I was stunned by how beautiful and likeable she is in person.
The last time I saw her she was wearing an open back chiffon top and figure hugging jeans, kwegamba, she just looked adorable.I have since made it a point to follow her on Instagram and I must say she never disappoints.
Her style is mostly trendy,so if its the in thing,Desire will wear it.
So lets look at the eleven times Desire slayed our lives.

With access to beautiful stones, precious metals and other unusual materials, there has been an explosion of phenomenal design in the jewelry world.Creativity is at an all time high.

Of late African jewellery has become the thing.It is competing favorably with other jewelry types on the international market such as pearls,diamonds and stones.

I personally love the zulu beads from South Africa.Their bold colours make a statement no matter what you are wearing.

This means that you can throw them over a simple black dress and they will automatically come off as stunning.

Below are a few ideas on how to pull off this trend.

Amber Rose looked stunning in platinum blonde bob hair do as she went out with her new man,25 year old basket baller,Terrence Ross who couldn't keep his hands off the 32 year old beauty.

Her famous curves were held together in an asymmetrical yellow dress which she popped off with a red lip and diamond studs.

8 QUESTIONS WITH THE SHOE GOD-COLO COLLINS

He has been nicknamed the 'shoe god' for the creative way he breathes life into any shoe.If its an old shoe,he will 'resurrect' it.He characteristically makes shoes from scratch in a way that leaves us wondering,'akikolatya?''

Here are a few questions we asked to help demystify the man.

1.What inspired you to start designing shoes?

The basketball player, Michael Jordan.His shoe line is making him too much money.I also look up to Russell Simmons because I loved wearing his shoes when i was younger.

2. So how did you start and with how much capital?

I started 6 years ago with basically nothing.I used to save the little money my mum would give me for pocket money and invest it in the bus
My mum was very supportive.So I learnt by visiting different shoe factories world wide, Working as a "tool boy" in those factories until I learnt everything I know now.

Do you have a child or a sibling above the ages of three?The kids modelling academy offers you the opportunity to build their talents in an all-in-one package.

Under the theme,“Modelling for the future,'' the international school of modelling started in 2014 with an aim of creating a platform for aspiring models both male and female.

''Our package includes , photography, confidence building and self esteem, dancing, Exercise and Fitness, commercials, modelling and we are soon introducing swimming. We expose each child to these different areas in order to build a full packaged model, we work hand in hand with parents to advice us accordingly,''says Davidson Makanga the manager of the academy.

1.At number one we have the voluptous Desire Luzinda(above) ripping that red dress apart!!She is very stylish,that one!

I am personally looking forward to attending this one.Organised by Josephine Nakafeero, a seasoned fashionista, the 'Fashion Foward' event will take place on 2nd June, which is next Thursday, at Cayenne starting at 8pm prompt.

As a fashion designer herself ,Josephine focuses on adding modern touches to her African outfits turning them into stunning pieces of art.She will showcase her latest collection as well as officially launch her label at the event.

Entrance will be 30,000 for an ordinary ticket and 50,000 for a VIP ticket..

She urges guests to prepare their best outfits as there will be a red carpet and paparazzi from Nbs TV.

The event that took place last night aimed at commemorating the international 'African day' was a visual fashion fest.They were over 6 designers showcasing and a myriad of fashionistas in attendance.
Judging from the pictures, here, every guest did their best in adhering to the theme of the night 'Fashion meets culture.'
The event was apparently only let down by poor choreography. According to one commentator on Facebook ,''yesterday's choreography was off! Completely! You would have expected Multichoice Uganda to at least fly in Jan Malan or Andiswa Manxiwa to help out those wobbly models. Only one model brought his A-game, the dark-skinned almost inconspicuous lad. Great gait and runway presence.''
Since I wasn't in attendance I can neither deny or affirm the rumours,lol.
But at least the guests brought their A game.

MAJOR STYLE GOALS FROM UGANDA'S STYLING KING;KIM SWAGGA

There are people in high profile jobs that establish fashion trends.Others who create them and some who make them real.

The people that make fashion trends are referred to as designers,while those that make them come alive are stylists.

Kim Swagga falls in the latter category: he is a stylist and one of the most sought after in this country.
His eye for quality and creative prowess has exposed him to high profile clients such as Sheila Gashumba, Jose Chameleone, Daniella, King Saha among others.

Unlike other artists whose personality overshadows their work, this soft spoken fashionista's calm persona ensures that his clothes and styling do all the talking.

His personal style is a combination of blazers or jackets,paired with skinny jeans,a cap and sneakers.

Lets break down the many times Kim Swagga gave us major and I mean MAJOR style goals.

She has often left us spell bound with her beauty.And as if that is not enough this royal has a radiant personality; she is warm,approachable and intelligent.

A closer through her social media also reveals she is very stylish too,a trait she shares with her mother,Queen Best Kemigisha.

On a casual day Ruth will rock her crop tops and skirts/jeans and on other days will throw on a suit,to show you that she, like every other girl, her age, has a corporate life too.

But no matter what she wears you can always count on her to keep it feminine,simple with a bit of an edge.

RED CARPET REVIEW FROM THE 2016 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS

The billboard music Awards went on quietly,no one knew they were happening until the pictures from the event were released..Its then that we got the memo, lol.

And in my usual style i had to bring you the red carpet recap.

So lets start with Keke Palmer.(Above)For a young girl in her mid twenties,Keke is yet to find her style.The dress has an excellent fit but she seems a bit lost in it.The shoes and hair were a big mess as well.

HOT OR NOT?ANALYSING FLAVIA TUMUSIIME'S ON AIR STYLE

No list of beautiful women in Uganda would ever dare to leave out Flavia Tumusiime.People would riot ,they would dismiss the list and the list maker.Eh?How?lol...

The fresh faced news anchor,radio personality and emcee is as famed for her looks as for her brains/personality.

She boasts of so much presence that when they first introduced her as the news anchor on NTV, non news watchers started tuning in.The women wanted to see what she was wearing and the men wanted to ogle at her.Some of us just wanted to hear her speak.

But given as this as a style blog,I beg to focus on her style.Lol .Flavia's style is confusing ,she has several hits and misses and it all starts with the hair.Her hair choices sometimes leave you wondering,'but what is Flavia wearing on her head?'You know.

And then the colour choices of her outfits that sometimes make her look dated.

Anyways lets break down the times Flavia wowed and sometimes didn't, wow us.

Clad in all black outfits,the event that took place on Saturday night was a glamorous cocktail affair.It was the launch of Zziwa's new hair studio in Kisementi, a man famed for the way he handles both men and women's hair.

He is a salonist with a knack for style that has popularised him among celebrities such as Desire Luzinda,Judith Heard and Sheila Gashumba.

In attendance were the usual party goers with everybody making an effort to look exceptionally glamorous.Who knew that black could be styled in so many fabulous ways?

Judging from the pics every body had one hell of a great time and seemed to be in good spirits.

Hair by Zziwa has surely taken this hair styling thing to the next level.

He has styled so many celebrities from Irene Ntale,to Julianna Kanyomozi,Remah Nalumansi,Desire Luzinda and so many others.So i bring you the ten times this fashion guru wowed us with his styling skills.

Laker Dee is the new girl on the social scene.She is a socialite with brains,and those close to her ramble about how smart she is.

The mother ,wife and lawyer together with her boo? David Greenlagh throw one of a kind parties which we look at with envy.Like eh mama!

Most recently she organised a party to celebrate her birthday and the fete was like something out of a movie.To this event she wore two lovely dresses.

I have had the grand opportunity to interview Anita Beryl because i work for a newspaper company,duh?Haha..but besides that I also stalk her every now and then.She has shop on Tirupati Mazima mall filled with a wonderful display of mostly bridal gowns all made by herself.Couture is her thing and she makes it look like a walk in the park.

Speaking of couture,its not easy to make a gown without it looking cheap and tacky.But Anita,this gal,is way past that level!!

Chic makes a lace gown with all the fancy embellishments on it by herself.Without the funny stitches and stuff.

Radio and Weasel,the dynamic singing duo were a few minutes ago live in a sold out concert at Hotel Africana.As everybody was busy talking about how successful their show was, my mind immediately went to their personal lives and I remembered Samira.

Samira Tumi is Weasel's live in girlfriend with whom he has a child.

Like other celebrity girlfriends,Samira has to look the part.Otherwise your man will be snatched,jokes*

FASHION FROM THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL,WHO ROCKED,WHO FLOPPED?

The Cannes film festival are a totally glamorous affair reminiscent of our very own Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards where.Its a meeting place for International actresses who rock the most expensive gowns as they sashay down the huge red carpet.

So here are my top ten most interesting outfits from the film festival.

If you know me very well,you know that am a lover of all things African.Talk about being proud of your heritage,haha.
In line with that,I planned an African themed photo shoot so I called my Amarachi models together had their makeup done and we headed off to cayenne where we took the pics from.

I was surprised by how pretty the pics came out because i had under-estimated the power of African print.

I discovered first hand that African prints are the sunshine of prints,they have a life of their own, are colourful,versatile and so beautiful.Just check out the ones below.I bet you love them.

Hey lovelies,as you all may know by now,am organising a fashion show on the third of March this year.The show that is slated for third March will take place at Cayenne Restaurant and Lounge situated in Bukoto.

Since Lauma Lingerie will be on of the four designers that day we did a Photoshoot to show guests a teaser of what to expect that day.

The photoshoot was done by the amazing guys at Events Guru studio located on Katatumba Suites.

I brought together ten models with very diverse models to depict the beauty of lingerie that Lauma is.

Our Camera man at Events Guru was supportive enough to capture the grls best angles.

HOT HAIR ALERT: WE ARE LOVING FAUX LOCS FOR THE YEAR 2016

Faux locs are a sexy and stylish protective style that allows you to see how you would look if you decided to rock real locs. They are a protective style that creates the illusion of real locs by winding extensions around sections of your own hair. They are growing in popularity and as more women rock them, some are finding out there may be concerns on whether or not they are damaging to one’s own hair.
